The club newsletter has illustrated some Ranchu Trip information in Europe and Japan to share the insight stories with the members only.
Christmas Eve morning saw the enthusiastic bunch of VRC members gathered at YuHua Community Club meeting room with their prized Ranchu ready for battle. There were 20 entries, all junior and Tosai fish. The basins were all laid out meticulously by our most hardworking member, Charles Lam. Careful unpacking ensured and the Ranchu were slowly released into the pristine white enamel basins. The judges were Sean Wee, Vice Chairman and Robin Chua, Secretary. The experience eyes of the judges quickly identified the top three Ranchu and the results were released within a very short time. There was absolutely no disagreement with the choices as the fish deserved their rankings The champion fish was a red Tosai and it was a magnificent fish, very well balanced and swam with poise and grace. It was a stunner and an unanimous champion. The owner, CH Loke, certainly knows how to select his Ranchu! Runner-up was a VRC imported Kashino entered by Charles Lam and this Tosai had a gorgeous tail which won the judges hearts. 3rd position went to another VRC imported Kashino red Tosai, owned by Clifford Chan, which was a real jumbo and had a very well developed head and strong body. The prizes and certificates were given out by our Chairman, Desmond Lee. And the 2nd Edition of VRC Kingyo Information was also made by him and given a copy to every member.
