The 2nd National Ranchu Competition was held on 22nd January 2006 at the YuHua Community Club. The event was jointly organized by Vanda Ranchu Club and YuHua Community Club Youth Executive Committee. This year, much was expected from the show as the inaugural competition had set high standards and the excitement amongst the competitors was palpable.
The planning had begun months earlier and nothing was left to chance. The aim of the organizers was to better manage the 1st show in every way in order to grow the interest in the fast expanding hobby.
The panel of judges included a stellar cast of world renowned personalities in the Ranchu world and they came from all over the world. To lend their expertise and experience were Mr. Tomonori Deguchi(Japan), Mr. Geert Coppens(Belgium), Mr. Aod Koban(Thailand), Mr. Sura Mongkol(Thailand) and our very own local expert Mr. Sean Wee. All of these were just as excited about the show as the organizers and participants!
Activity surrounding the show began the day before when the white basins and tanks were prepared and this continued the next day when the fishes were benched in. There were --- entries for the Top View and --- for Side View. This year the focus seemed to shift to the topview fish reflecting the general increase in interest among top view enthusiasts.
